Working to a restricted budget of £30,000, the client wanted to convert an existing detached garage into a workspace and possible holiday let.

The existing structure was wrapped in locally grown larch boards and insulation, and the roof pitched to follow the gradient of the land. This allowed the workspace to be built on a mezzanine deck inside the garage facing back towards the main house, with a double height lower area for meetings and storage.

The cabin is entirely heated with a small woodburning stove, has a new WC / shower room and storage under the mezzanine, and fully wired data access.
