The ‘Dennis Sciama’ institute provides a new social hub for Portsmouth University’s north campus, and is designed to give life to a previously characterless square. It provides cafeteria dining for up to 250 students and staff, flexible teaching space, and, on the top floor, the world leading research Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation

The design is generous, bright and sets the benchmark for the future campus buildings. It embodies low-energy design throughout, with carefully designed natural ventilation for classrooms, good daylighting, and good adaptability for the future.
